About Rebecca

Rebecca Minkus-Lieberman is a seeker, a learner, a fellow traveler.

Over the past 27 years, she has devoted her time and attention to deepening her own Jewish learning through study with a variety of scholars and experiential encounters with different practitioners. Over those years, Rebecca taught in a diverse range of settings, working with individuals, families, fellow educators, and communities.

In 2014, Rebecca co-founded Orot: Center for New Jewish Learning, an organization devoted to transformative Jewish learning and spiritual practice. Through her work at Orot, Rebecca seeded spiritual micro-communities which placed refuge, nourishment and transformation at their center. In 2019, Rebecca created The Peaceful Parent Project, a cohort-based program to support parents and their families; through this program, she has helped hundreds of parents who are parenting in Jewish families to cultivate deeper connection, calm, and compassion.

In her teaching and guidance, Rebecca seeks to open up the well of Jewish wisdom to all and to help others use its richness to bring wellness and meaning to their lives.

Rebecca received a B.A. in Jewish Studies from Princeton University, a M.Ed. from DePaul University, and a M.A. from the Divinity School at the University of Chicago with a focus on Modern Jewish Thought. Additionally, she is a certified parent educator in Positive Discipline and a certified yoga instructor. Rebecca is currently studying for rabbinic ordination through the Shalom Hartman Institute in its inaugural rabbinic cohort. She will receive ordination in December 2026.

She currently lives in Deerfield, Illinois with her husband David and her three children where she enjoys running, writing poetry, cooking, and practicing yoga.
